Soviets offered Germans to surrender at 10.01.1943, promising life, but Germans did not agree. 3 weeks later most of Germans were hungry, ill, wounded and exhausted.

Inaccurate. For example, In his book Stalingrad, Beevor writes how Soviets would enter such German ‘hospital’ basements and systematically k ill the medics and patients alike. No mercy shown whatsoever.

Germans leadership got to be stupid. Stalingrad had no strategic significance. Their strategic should be mobile defense to decimate the Red Army and not seek territory. Invading Russia? Duh!
