Historical Flags of USA: The current design of the US. flag is its 27th; the design of the US. flag has been modified officially 26 times since 1777. The 50-star flag was adopted in 1960. It is the longest-used version of the US. flag and has been in use for over 59 years
The star patterns for the flags are merely the usual patterns, often associated with the United States Navy. Canton designs, prior to the proclamation of the 48-star flag, had no official arrangement of the stars
If a new US. state was to be admitted, it would require a new design on the flag to accommodate the additional star.

#Fun_Fact : The flag of USA is nicknamed The Stars and Stripes or Old Glory. Some nations imitated this flag so as to symbolize their similarity to the USA or the American Revolution (Liberia, Chile, Uruguay, Taiwan, and The French region of Brittany).
The American Flag had 15 Stripes for 23 Years. After Vermont and Kentucky were added to the Union, two more stripes and two more stars were added to recognize the newly added states. 23 years later in 1818, they decided to let the stars represent the states in the United States and the stripes represent the thirteen colonies.
