Much like Schipol in Amsterdam, Yeni Havalimani in Istanbul enjoys a crossroads location. Amsterdam and Istanbul have always been geopolitically important cities by virtue of their geographies alone, and it makes sense that Yeni Havalimani could become the busiest airport in the world—even surpassing Dubai International for volume of international traffic.
