1980 I was diagnosed with bone cancer. Given one year to live at 16. Spent the whole year fighting for my life. Did not know what was to be a teenager. Now I’m 55, happily married with my high school love, with two 20 year old young adults as my children. Looking back at it all ... it was hell and in a sense it still is. Of my group (100) I’m the only survivor. Still have scars from treatment and amputation of left leg. Still having second cancer haunts me everyday .... this song expresses exactly how I feel but never have been able to put in words. Thank you SIA for speaking for all survivors... and YES, I’m Still Here!!!!
