Doug is the kind of guy who refuses to climb into back seats anymore 😢

I drove such a Ferrari 456GT over a duration of about 2 years, because its owner wasn't able to drive it anymore, but at the same time doesn't want to sell it.
It was a dark-blue metallic one & when the owner died, his family wanted me to find the perfect next owner, as I sadly couldn't afford this car, assurance-wise.
So, it went back to Italy, where it's still in the ownership of the buyer, 12y later - and every time, I'm in the area, we do a short trip around his town, bc he knows, I would have bought, if I would have had the money for.

So, thank you Doug for sharing this with the community.😍

Remember when he used to care. Climbing into the back seats, going over the Doug score one by one, looking for every details before making a video, those were the days.

I am so glad Doug is reviewing older cars again. Haven't watched a single video of these new cars the past years... Finally a little bit of the old Doug back...

In 1997 I got to spend most of my summer vacation driving my uncle’s 456 in France, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. It was the most impressive car I’ve ever driven in every respect, and one the German autobahn I got to push it hard and it just settle into a comfortable groove while the engine screamed this incredible mechanical symphony. If I could afford to buy and maintain one I absolutely would. The only problem with experiencing it was having to go back home to the US and our low speed limits and drive my boring Honda Accord.

Thumbs up if you think Doug should make, Kenan randomly come out and sit in the back seats since Doug doesn't wanna do it anymore

The 456GT was the first Ferrari ever I owned back in 1997...What a beautiful memory it was...

In the form of a matchbox 1/64 of course.

My parents were the official doctors of a couple of Ferrari tours back in the 90s

Every time the group went on track they had a bunch of wrist and ankle injuries. Due to the weight of the clutch and the shifter.

With the adrenaline of “racing” everyone was pushing it very hard and not noticing they were actually hurting themselves. But a few minutes (and a bunch of cigarettes) after stopping many of the owners started limping around, complaining about ankle, knee, wrist and forearm pain.
That’s how heavy the controls were

All the best to everyone

The joy Doug started having at the end of the drive is like a kid on Christmas. Such a great thing to watch. Watch him be this the next car he buys😂

Time flies. I remember when these were new in 1995 which still feels like only a couple years ago mentally. When you think about it being 2024, in three more years, the time distance between this car when new to 2027 will be the same time distance from when the 1962 250 GTO and the 1995 456 GT will be the same length. 🥴😵‍💫🤯

I don’t remember the last time Doug reviewed a car that wasn’t “being auctioned live on C&B.”
