'Colonia Americana… ¡No!' - Panamanian Anti-American Song

"American Colony... NO!" is a Panamanian song composed in 1977 to remember the events of January 9, 1964 when many Panamanians died in their struggle to claim the Panama Canal from American occupation. The song expressed the desire for the canal to be returned to Panamanian hands. In 1977, the Torrijos-Carter Treaty was signed, ending U.S. colonial presence and returning the canal to Panama.
