Autism Jargon: Pragmatic Speech

Today’s Jargon is Pragmatic Speech! This is the area where speech converges with social skills so an individual is able to understand and communicate within all settings and circumstances.

This is Speech therapist jargon but has to do a lot with autism. Autistic children has pragmatic speech very compromised cause it is related to THE INTENTION OF COMMUNICATING your needs opinion and ideas with others and we know communication and social are two of the main issues in autism. In early stage you might see children having vocabulary but no requesting vocally for instance.

Sounds like to me my pragmatic speech is very poor.
