This incredible album was released in July 1966, I bought this copy in November 1966. Every one of the 14 tracks on this record rocks.

The personnel for this first album were:

* Arthur Lee: Lead vocals, percussion, and harmonica.
* Johnny Echols: Lead guitar
* Bryan Maclean: Rhythm guitar and vocals.
* Ken Forssi: Bass
* Alban "Snoopy" Pfisterer: Drums

There's are good write-ups on the group and this album here:

Vinyl sound track restored using Cool Edit Pro 2.0 and Adobe Audition 3.0.

wikipedia This riff originated when early Pink Floyd manager Peter Jenner was trying to hum a song he could not remember the name of (most commonly identified as Love's cover of "My Little Red Book").[5][10][11] Barrett followed Jenner's humming with his guitar and used it as the basis for the principal melody of "Interstellar Overdrive".

I miss bands like Love, the MC-5, Iron Butterfly, and the list goes on. There was so much music in the 60's, there was hardly enough time to listen to it all. I guess that's why I'm here, listening to the stuff I don't have anymore. So who said the internet was bad for you, I get my music fix here, you all get yours too. Peace!

On this day in 1966 {June 18th} Love performed this song on the late Dick Clark's American Bandstand...
About seven weeks earlier on April 30th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it peaked at #52 and spent 11 weeks in the Top 100...
Lead singer Arthur Lee passed away on August 3rd, 2006 at the age of 61...
R.I.P. Mr. Lee and Mr. Clark...

damn man.. thank u for posting this. One of the most underrated bands of all time. A definite favorite of my dads as well. RIP Raymond Vallejo 1949-2013 and Mr. Lee especially 1945-2006

The record label says first published in March, 1966. I saw it in the beginning of your film. Just to be accurate. It is a great record. Thanks for posting. Cool to see.

"My Little Red Book" was written by songwriting team of Bert Bacharach and Hal David, who wrote it for the film, "What's New Pussycat." Manfred Mann recorded it for the soundtrack. Bacharach reportedly didn't like the chord changes Love made on their version of the song. But it became primarily a West Coast hit in spring 1966 that peaked at # 52 on Billboard's chart.
