hi, why is the first petal dc while the rest are 2dctog?

This is not a design for a beginner! Need to practice with flat pieces before going into a garment! And for the person asking what is DC (double crochet stitch) need to get a site explaining abbreviations! As far as why only one DC in first petal, well, at the end you need to CH 3 to go up the side of the petal, and that makes the petal equal in numbers!!
