He’s been a part of all our childhoods. It’s a bonus that he seems like such a kind and sweet man

Couldn't help but notice one crew member wearing a "Don't Hassle Me, I'm Local" t-shirt. Great to see a fellow "What About Bob?" fan! Also great to see my idol doing a project so close to his heart. I can't wait to see the film!

It feels like it is the last movie of steven but I hope not. I hope he makes more movies, he is one of the reason why I want to be a filmmaker. Can't wait to see this movie.

Long ago, ... pressing "⏩" a hundred times, then "⏯" once.

"Sam Fabelman" has changed my life more times than I could count. Not as a fan, nor as a writer, ... However, as a human being whose mother had a pet monkey as a child and lived near the "stars" on her back with no movie ticket to the show.

For me, as a child growing up... I only looked at the stars and never felt like I could reach them. I was too shy to ever think I was worthy of such things. Looking back now, I regret not taking the chance to move to Hollywood and strive for my dreams. Watching this film has set things in motion for me that I will not squander or take for granted again.
Helped me to see beyond the horizon plains of Glitterville.

Thank you, everyone for making this film and opening doors for me that I would have never thought possible.

I’m definitely supporting this one I actually sent a fan letter to Steven Spielberg and to my surprise a personal typed up letter showed up on my porch inside a first class FEDEX EXPRESS Envelope. (From His Team).

I reached out to him for a special reason. I even sent back a thank you note. I also framed the letter as well.

Steven Spielberg claimed that although he and Tony Kushner had discussed the idea of the movie for years, it was during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 that he decided to write the screenplay with Kushner from scratch while his schedule was clear. The two of them wrote the script from their homes during lockdown and finished it in 2 months. Steven Spielberg's first screenplay credit since A.I. Artificial Intelligence. The film's development goes back to 1999, when Steven Spielberg considered directing a film about his childhood for some time, with its initial incarnation being titled "I'll Be Home." It would have been directed from a screenplay written by his sister Anne Spielberg (who inspired the character of Reggie Fabelman in this film). In March 2022, cinematographer Janusz Kaminski provided more information on the film's plot. He revealed that the film will chronicle Spielberg's life from age seven to eighteen and deal with "his family, with his parents, conundrums with his sisters, but primarily deals with his passion for movie-making, " while adding that it will touch on the themes of "young love, parental divorce, and early formative relationships ... It's a very beautiful, beautiful personal movie. It's very revealing about Steven's life and who he is as a filmmaker." This is the fourth collaboration between Steven Spielberg and Tony Kushner, and the first screenplay they've written together. Tony Kushner had previously written Munich, Lincoln, and West Side Story, which were all directed by Steven Spielberg. It was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The film's title is presumed to be the family's surname that the story is based around. First film from Steven Spielberg to be distributed by Universal Pictures since Munich. The work on the screenplay for The Fabelmans began in October 2020 during the lockdowns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Tony Kushner reflected on the experience, saying, "We wrote three days a week, four hours a day, and we finished the script in two months: by leagues the fastest I've finished anything. It was a blast. I loved it." Spielberg, at that time, felt that the climate caused by the pandemic convinced him that the time was now right to make the film, saying, "I started seriously thinking, if I had to make one movie I haven't made yet, something that I really want to do on a very personally atomic level, what would that be? And there was only one story I really wanted to tell ... My life with my mom and dad taught me a lesson, which I hope this film in a small way imparts ... Which is, when does a young person in a family start to see his parents as human beings? In my case, because of what happened between the ages of 7 and 18, I started to appreciate my mom and dad not as parents but as real people." He gave drafts of the script to his sisters, Sue and Nancy, to ensure that their memories be included in the story and that the details in the film were portrayed as accurately as possible. On the meaning behind the family name "Fabelman", Kushner (who came up with that name) said, "Spielberg means play-mountain; 'spieler' is an actor in Yiddish, and a 'spiel' can be speech or can be a play ... I wanted to have some of that meaning, and I’ve always liked the German word 'fabel, ' which means fable. And because the movie is autobiographical for Steven but it isn’t an autobiography, it’s not a documentary, so there’s a fictional element as well. So I thought that ‘Fabelman’ was a nod to that." It was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I truly apologize to everybody I am a Christian and I know I'm not Jewish but I wish to say on behalf of the cast members and of Mr Steven Spielberg in regards to the movie that has defined the beginning of his lifelong dream of becoming a filmmaker for that I wish to say L'chaim. Forgive me but every time I see the trailer all I want to do is cry right now because I know this is a movie that is going to get an Academy Award for certain. All my love goes out to the family and friends of Steven Spielberg

Sometimes I pick a movie just by the cover. How to be a really good movie. Sometimes I can watch the first part of the trailer. And the sign that it's a good movie. And it was. Some movies have really good sets.

I cannot wait to see this movie next week I will take the day off work to go see it. I know that I work in a warehouse but that's not where I belong what I mean by that is I will not spend the rest of my life working in a warehouse with a bunch of heartless people because the only place that I have ever loved ever since my parents took me to it as a kid is a movie theater. I know it sounds childish and all but a movie theater to me is my happy place because I feel like when I go to see a movie it feels like inspiration pops into my head. Maybe that's what Steven Spielberg thought when he was a kid and a movie is a dream and that dream can become a reality that could Inspire Millions after all he inspired me since I was a kid the same went for James cameron, James Gunn, Ridley Scott, Mel brooks, Quentin Tarantino, and even my favorite director John Carpenter. Because they all had one thing in common imagination because what can be an imagination can become more than a dream but become a reality and that reality is never going to leave a person's mind if they go out to pursue a filming career. A word of advice to those who are going to pursue a filming career God bless you as soon as you came into the world and God gave you a talent some are going to do this and some are going to do that but when you want to become a film director a film actor and actress a producer and executive producer or even somebody who's choosing somebody for casting you know that you are going to fulfill a dream. Imagine seeing yourself on the screen in front of millions of people across the world and they're going to say I know this guy I grew up with this guy I used to go to school with that kid and now he's on the screen they may not say the exact words but they're going to remember you and eventually there's going to be a star for you right in Hollywood. Go out there and pursue that dream not to be well known not to be placed in a memorial but to give it your all to use your god-given talent to help others to pursue but also to never give up because God created you to continue to strive not to give up don't ever give up on your dream make a better future make it as close as you can to the Garden of Eden. But you know who the best person who is getting the best seat in the theater who gets the best seat in the house? That person is God he bought the first ticket got a popcorn and drink and he sat in the biggest chair in the theater he watched the movie from beginning to end he loved it laughed and cried and he stood there and applauded you. Because like it or not God is your biggest fan he admires you as you should admire him. He's the one who knows your film is a box of a success he knows you can pursue to get an Oscar he knows that you can lead a good life a good kind faithful life you may have to repent here and there but never give up on him because he will not give up on you. All my love goes out to Steven Spielberg and his family and I promise you Mr Spielberg I will go see that movie I will gladly take my mother to a movie theater on her birthday to go see it but I will take time off work to see it first to see how good it is and then take my mother to the theater and I'd like for her to see how it goes.

Great movie, but the upbeat tone of it is out of step with critics' current obsessions with depressing "misery porn, " as exemplified by recent Oscar winners.
