Toxic was actually horrible in Gen 1, as you could go from badly poisoned to normal poison just by switching out. However, another glitch allowed you to double toxic your opponent (assuming they didn't/couldn't switch out) by using leech seed in combination with toxic. Even with this glitch toxic was still a gimmick in gen 1 and sees almost no competitive usage.

Belch?? Seriously. After hearing you say that it was the best poison move in gen 6, the gen where poison actually got good because of fairy. I'm starting to think you don't actually play pokemon...
