Three Gibsons, now my very first HARLEY BENTON! 100% honest review.

My last 3 purchases have been Gibson guitars, now here are my thoughts on my new, just purchased, Harley Benton DC-Junior Faded Cherry, double cut.

For all things Harley Benton and More, please go to these fine folks:

Video Timing:

0:40 - Unboxing:
6:20 - First impressions:
13:15 - Clean sounds:
15:34 - Overdrive sounds:
17:27 - Final thoughts:

Here's what I did to get it playing to my style:

Loosened truss rod slightly, lowered bridge, raised the pole pieces on the Roswell P90. I'll also cut the A string slot a wee bit lower now that I've played it a little as it's a bit on the high side for keeping tune when fretting in the first 3 frets.

What I might change:
Pickup: I'm not sure that his Rosewell P90 will handle a significant amount of gain at gigging volume. It might, but I think I would prefer to switch it out.
Tuners: Again, if I was gigging this guitar I may switch these out, but it will depend once I have a chance to play it for a while in proper gigging conditions.

Thanks for watching.

Isn't it sick that there is sence of comparing a GIBSON to a Harley Benton? Thumbs up for Harley Thomann 😂👍🎸🎼🎵🎶❣️

I don't know why but I really enjoy the sound of your voice and the accent
Awkward comment out of the way, these double cuts are really cool and much less of an eyesore than other "clone" designs

Yes the gigging conditions can indeed be very challenging 🍺🍺✊🏼, seems like it’s worthy of the challenge!

i have ordered one of these... what is it about us blokes of a certain age with grey hair buying loads of guitars..? i am 55 and spent last 20 years buying various types of guitars and i cant seem to stop... im not even a great player... definitely more of a rhythm player i dont lean towards lead i dont have shreddy fingers.. i dont even wanna be in a band (tried when i was 16) .. but i love sitting indoors learning stuff off you tube..ive had a few @£500 guitars.. ibanez and a mex strat.... sold them.. and i kinda love a good budget guitar, its never going further than my front room .. tried gibson les paul in a shop and it didnt impress me more than my epi lez.... i also find when a guitar has less bollox on it to fiddle with.. it makes you actually concentrate on string attack and little nuances you wouldnt usually bother all part of the fun....

I don't know what it was that made me absolutely need to have one of these, but I picked it up back in January. They're amazing instruments. Even with shipping to the States, they're still a great value. I admittedly wish I got the single cut, but the double is a beautiful instrument and a great rock and roll snarler! Great video. New subscriber for sure! Cheers!

Have the same in Pelham Blue and it's awesome, had the best fret job of anything I've bought (that includes Gibson and Fenders), slapped on a set of 9-46 and it's great.

I've got the new DC60 in the blue ( sg junior) and its bloody awesome! I've changed the bridge to a low profile one as I thought the bridge was sharp on the edges. I also raised the p90 with the Roswell shim 4mm and that made a massive difference. Also put a better capacitor in it and was gonna change the pots but the alpha full size ones just work. Its probably my go to guitar at the moment ( well the last 6 months or so) over the 15 I've got of various price points. I love the fretboard its smooth and after a fret polish and 9s fitted it bends like a young pole dancer! I was going to swap out the p90 for a usa epiphone one over got in a box but I actually like the Roswell now it closer to the stings it has a nice twang when clean and roll off the tone and that fake bridge sound is awesome. Add some dirt through my valve head with a tube screamer it sings!

I counted more than 10 guitars, Marshall head but the ceiling lamp looks like stolen from local elementary school restrooms - now that I call a dedication! Love it.

Thanks for sharing mate. Pickups sound a little cleaner than I was expecting for sure, lot's more string separation that I expected.

Just bought myself the Tokai version of this, changed pots for Bareknuckle, and slight change to setup, but Juniors are fantastic guitars

I have a Harley Benton DC-580CH Vintage ( Looks like a Gibson SG ) .. and I'm about to get a Pelham Blue Harley Benton DC-Junior. I LOVE the DC-580. For $120 I'm blown away by the quality. I did end up upgrading the pickups, it came with Roswell Humbuckers. They sounded good.. But I like great sounding pickups.

I love watching unboxings! They are so cool! Holy cow, man! That guitar is sweet! And man alive that tone is great!
The palm muting on it sounds really good! Also, that solo you played during the overdrive sounds was amazing! Keep on rockin', man!

Nice guitar. Throw in a Lollar P90 and it's a real game changer.

Add a Golden Age low-profile wrap-around bridge from Stew Mac and a Seymour Duncan Antiquity P-90 and you're good to go!

I've just ordered one in faded blue. Thanks for the video, as it helped me make up my mind after a few months of humming and hawing. Cheers!
