Grand County deputies aim to disrupt drug pipeline through Southeastern Utah

It’s an uphill battle, but the Emery/Grand Task Force is up for the task.

“It’s free flowing, it’s crazy to see what’s coming in to the community and passing through the community and we’re only catching a fraction of what’s coming through,” said Grand County Sheriff Jamison Wiggins. “Talking to users; they’re hoping they’re getting meth but their meth is being laced with fentanyl, watching our overdoses go through the roof; all of our guys carry Narcan with them now.”

In partnership with the Emery County Sheriff's Office, the Grand County Sheriff's Office has put more time and resources into drug interdiction on major drug trafficking routes such as I-70.
