"No one is replaceable" is a line that hits so hard, both in and out of character. Ren's development was so good this volume and Neath's voice work made it that much better, he absolutely nailed his performance.

This was Ren and Neath’s best volume by far.

He had a really good developement this volume. He never says a lot and doesn't need to because everything he does say is powerful. Imo Ren is one of the better written characters on this show.

it feels like anytime they put a lot of focus on ren it turns out to be one of my favorite things from those volumes... hes such a subtle character that stays to the side often but when he gets some focus hes just. so great. im so so happy he and nora got some great development this volume. i ESPECIALLY love ren discovering that extra level to his semblance, its so so cool and explains a bit of that sixth sense hes shown a couple of times without realizing it. i love this boy and love every minute that hes given to shine. neath has come a long way in improvement for voice acting him too !! hes still got this slight awkwardness to line delivery occasionally but I personally think it works perfectly for who ren is as a character. overall ren was definitely one of my favorite things this volume, im proud of him :)

Ren and Nora's scene was so cute and sweet that I might have developed diabetes watching.

I mean when he was calling everyone out he was right. And they did loose both of the relics in the end.

I love it so much, that even when he gets angry and said he was qngry at himself and not being strong enough, even then he said a lots of really true things, like them not being ready for this. This man can be at his best, his calmest, his angriest, he will always be the smartest and the most open-eyed one in the room.

The development of so many different characters and connections this volume, it rapidly rose up to one of my fav volumes, love them all but it stands out...Ren and Nora experiencing life apart from one another and growing individually, Winter's growth to do the right thing over her duty, Ruby and Blake's friendship getting more screen time, Hazel and Emerald switching sides. One thing i love is the fact that when many shows bring in loads of characters they struggle to give them all development but Rwby has managed to do that even when the stories were seperated.
