Best explanation by far, all (and I do mean all) others assume the viewer or reader knows which directory one is working from and also assumed staying in the same sub-tree. Your explanation included pwd to illustrate what everyone else was taking for granted. I needed to move a directory and all its contents from one sub-tree up three levels and down three on another.

Thanks for you comprehensible tutorial. I'm new to Linux - recently installed Ubuntu 14.04 in my PC and currently learning vigorously. Your video was pretty helpful in this regard. Thanks once again.

quick question, how can I copy multiple files from a directory to another director or to multiple directories.
for example, I want to copy green, blue and red (files) from cars directory to house directory and also to cloths directory

I have recently installed ubuntu 14.04.3 (64bit) on a working computer that has a solid connection to the internet, and when I entered the static ip address I set for the machine in a browser I get the generic server welcome page, so I know the connection is good. The machine was able to get updates and upgrades successful, and even managed to install squid proxi server, but when I try to enter the command sudo vim /etc/vsftpd.cong into the command line the machine creates a new text document with that name rather then opening the configuration file that should be there.
When i look in the ect directory I do not see the vsftpd.conf file I would expect to see, and when I try to do sudo apt-get install vsftpd I get error messages that tell me that the installer was unable to resolve the repository address...
Any Suggestions or Ideas on how to resolve this situation would be greatly appreciated??

Thank you very much.
I have a question. on 4:54, after typing "Line 15", what do I need to type to go down to the bottom in order to type ":wq!"?
I could not figure it out.
Thank you very much again.
