This is so true. I have some family members who are teachers & police officers. They voted for Trump & are anti-socialism. I have argued with them that some socialism is necessary for a country to be great. Aside from taking care of our sick & elderly with social security & medicare, Socialist programs are also programs that can help our country, educate our children, protect our people. Their OWN jobs are Socialism. Public schools are Socialism. Police & Fire departments are Socialism. Libraries, Roads, anything that we all chip in to pay for that helps the greater good is Socialism. I am a #NeverTrump moderate Republican (who has leaned more liberal Dem since Trump's attack on Democracy & the GOP's failure to defend our Constitution) & I believe in Capitalism, but I also believe a Country needs social programs to take care of our sick & elderly & educate our children who are the future of our Country. Investing in our own people makes us stronger.
