The two, though different, are both appropriate for Iori. The only thing the new VA messed up was Iori's signature laugh.

Takanori Hoshino does a great job since I didn't even know it was a new voice actor behind Iori. Still, when you compare Yasui to Hoshino, I really think Yasui has a better voice that fits more with Iori's madness when he laughs or when he executes SDMs.

The great thing Kunihiko Yasui did was that he'd always deliver the lines and yells in a different way each game. Paraphrasing him: "To add more realism/humanity". By doing that, he made the transition into a new VA much more easier to take.

When I first heard Yagami in XIV, I thought it was just Yasui delivering the lines in a different way. There were parts in which his voice sounded deeper and less smooth than I remembered, but I attributed that to his age... turns out it was just a new voice actor.

Fantastic job. It is always great when a new VA can sound so similar to the previous one.

The new VA does a fantastic job. He sounds so close to the original. He just needs to work on the intensity. Yasui's roar at 1:32 is just scary.

He's pretty good. And the "Doushita" even sounds similar to the original VA.
But I don't think he nailed the laugh, or the Super (Nake, sakebe, soshite shine.)

i might get use to it later on but i will miss kunihiko he was the best iori voice from kof's begginings but i will miss his perfect iori laugh that got me into iori

Its sad to see both kyo and iori to be replaced but it was time they retired.

Kunihiko Yasui (KoF95-XIII) marcou a infância de todos os fãs brasileiros que jogavam os KOFs antigos incluindo Kof-Kyo onde tem centenas de frases do Iori Yagami. Nem tem como comparar uma lenda daquela época nostálgica com um substituto que até agora faz 4 papéis de dublagem.

The only very noticeable difference is the yell for Yatagarasu/Climax/Neomax, but even then Hoshino manages to match Yasui. Good stuff!
