The Code of Hammurabi vs. The 10 Commandments

Scholars claim the ancient Code of Hammurabi predates The Ten Commandments, and thus the Children of Israel "borrowed" this Babylonian law system and incorporated it into their own religion.

I'm afraid I do not see where the Bible stated that Lamech committed murder. I see that it says he killed a man, a young man, for wounding him, and that if Cain, who killed his brother during a rage was to be avenged 7 times, then he, who killed in self defense should be avenged 77 times, and I still do not see it saying he was a wicked man and an evil sinner. Also, I do not see where God ever stated that a man having multiple wives is a SIN. DO YOU???

Why did God allow us to find a pagan law code and not the one he gave to Moses?

It's much more likely that the Israelites copied the Law of Moses from the Code of Hammurabi, probably when they went into Babylonian captivity. There are too many anachronisms in both the stories of Noah, Abraham, and Moses for those stories to be accurate.

Archaeological evidence shows us that there could not possibly have been an Exodus from Egypt with the number of people the Old Testament claims. It's much more likely that the Exodus was an exodus of the Israelites from one of the vassal kingdoms existing under the Egyptian empire in Canaan at the time. Since Canaan was part of Egypt at the time of the Exodus, the story of exiting Egypt proper and heading to Canaan (which was still Egyptian-controlled with a mighty military using vassal Kings) would not have made sense.

Instead archaeology shows us that the city of a vassal King was burned. And it looks like the people, who had been under severe restrictions by the vassal King, burned the city and left. It looks like they headed for the Judean hills, where they created their own government with Judges as the arbiters of law.
