I am 265 pounds. The Apollo Phantom V3 is perfect. Good acceleration, climbs most any hill, more top end speed than I need, and the suspension is excellent. At 76 pounds, I can carry the scooter up a short flight of stairs or place it into the back of my car. Worth every penny.

I watched this video from mid this year as a 6'2" 280lb guy with size 13 mens US shoe, I need full suspension with dual motors. I decided on a Hiboy MAX Pro, I like the price point, the specs, the brand it self is reputable while offering a great warranty and parts replacement. I cant afford a scooter above the HiBoy Max Pro's $800 price-point, it felt like the best option available. Not to sound like a bot posting an ad lol..

I weigh 200-205 depending on the day and I’m 6’1 I love my base wolf warrior x, sadly I only have about 200 miles on it and I’ve had it a little over a year

Surprised no mention of the Solar P1 2.0. This is my 1st scooter, so I have no experience, but at 6'4" and 250lbs capability for large riders was a priority. I think it's good for 330lbs yet is one of the lightest dual motor scooters at about 50lbs. The handlebars raise and collapse. Without this feature it would not fit in my trunk. I'll even put it in a cart when going to the store. At about $1200 there isn't much that can match the capabilities of the P1. I suppose there might be better values, but on paper nothing compared and riding for much of the year, it lives up to the specs.

I'm wondering more about accessories you'll need and recommendations for important gear like helmets, lights, highviz, etc. What can you tell people who are night riders? What scooters have the best built in headlamps? What about helmet lamps?

The max g2 really should not be on this list. I had it for a short time and it could not handle my weight. I sold it and got the Segway GT1 when it was on sale for $1, 499. You cannot compare them. It handles my weight at full speed up the steepest hills in my neighborhood

Checkout the Inmotion Hillclimber as the best $1000 Big Dog scooter. I’m 230lbs and in Sport mode, can effortlessly accelerate to its max 23mph. Also gets me up some big hills in my neighborhood with ease. Dual motors at this price point is almost unique. 300lb max weight!
