Katerina Panagopoulos has a BSc in Foreign Literature by Paul Valery, at Montpellier, France and Doctorate of Philosophy (D.Phil.) with Honoris Causa from AMITY UNIVERSITY
She speaks English, French and Italian. She has worked in Tourism and has been an entrepreneur for many years.
She is the first Greek woman to receive the First Award of Europe in “Woman and Sports 2012”by the International Olympic Committee in Los Angeles in February 2012.
She has been awarded the European Citizen Award in 2017.
Katerina Panagopoulos is the National Ambassador of Greece, to the Council of Europe, for Sports, Tolerance and Fair Play, accredited by the Ministry of Urbanization in 1998. She performs her duties exclusively on a voluntary basis.
She is also Ambassador-at-Large, MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS, since 2018
And the President of the Panhellenic Women's Sports Association "KALLIPATEIRA" since 2005
A Member of the Board of Directors of the International Committee for Fair Play since 2005
The Honorary President of the Hellenic Organization of Political Scientists (EOPE - HAPSc)
