Mick Jagger On His Relationship With John Lennon

I liked John very much to start. We all had a good relationship with John.
He seemed to be in sympathy with our kind of music, so we used to go out to clubs a lot...
He was educated and very smart and cynical and funny and really amusing company.
He had a very funny take on the rest of the Beatles... But I used to get on with Paul as well.
Paul is very nice and easy to get on with - didn't have the acerbic side. You always knew with John,
you're gonna be on the end of a lot of sarcastic remarks that you weren't always in the mood for.

I've never seen those pics of John and Mick. Nice to see them smiling together. They always seemed like friendly musical rivals to me.

Their fun-filled friendship is plain to see in their little bit together in "Rock n'Roll Circus".

John's lost weekend in L.A. was his last party. He was trying to stay off drugs, he struggled but got his head straight at the Dakota. A little pot with Paul and George happened at The Dakota. I think he was ready to come back out by 1980, but we'll never fucking know.

Mick was still going hard with the drugs through the mid/late seventies... Probably why John was avoiding him after he got back with Yoko. Anytime the two got together I'm sure Lennon was pushed to the edge. Keith Richards said anytime John came to his house he would never leave on his own two feet. He was known to go along for the ride when things got rowdy.

It was a kick to see Lennon and Jagger at the AFI salute to Cagney in 1974...

It's sad. But I think John loved his friend. He just didn't want to remember old tough days. Just my opinion, of course.

Some American bloke reading Mick Jagger's quoted reminiscences of the long-dead John Lennon. YouTube - where surrealism came to die.

Mick Jagger with some kind of European accent? Yeah, that sounds about right.

There is video of Jagger hanging out with John and yoko though no? They were even spotted at the circus together.

That’s not Mickey Jagger talking. The person may be quoting Jagger…but it isn’t Jagger.

This was recorded when Mick got kicked in the mouth by Jerry Hall while they were honey mooning in Central America... That's why he sounds a Li'l different than usual.
