This is a good way to cut any shirt into a scoop neck and make sure its even and symmetrical. This will also make sure your sweater doesn't fall off your shoulders when you wear it.

1. Grab the shoulder seams and flip your shirt onto its side
2. Smooth out the area around the front and back of the collar where you will be cutting
3. Start cutting a few fingers below the collar (two to three fingers width below the collar, depending on how low you want the scoop neck to be). Cut sideways into the fabric.
4. Follow the curve of the collar and then start curving up towards the spot where the shoulder seam meets the collar seam
5. Cut right through the shoulder seam and cut along the back of the collar, right under the collar seam. Don't make it too low at the back of the collar or it will fall off your shoulders (unless you want that look which is totally cool)
6. Stretch it out a bit and try on your scoop neck sweater!

I started cutting up old clothing when I was a teenager. I started with vintage clothing and eventually moved on to tshirts because they were so comfortable to wear. They are also easy to cut up and recycle because they don’t fray when they are cut. This means you can make all sorts of designs by just cutting and even more simple changes with hand sewing.

T-shirts are so cool and comfortable and you can cut them up to make them even more dope. I will show you the best way to cut a neckline, add pockets, make them into crop tops, add fringe pieces, cut off the shoulders, sew on some patches, and make old tshirts into awesome new designs. There are simple tricks you can use to make sure your shirts look even, symmetrical, and well done.

You will end up with shirts that you feel good wearing because they were made by you! Make clothing that represents your style.

Thanks for watching, I am sending you love, I appreciate your comments and your support. Peace!

Had a sweatshirt that was choking me with how high up the collar was. This was so easy, thank you!

Hey! Tnx so much for this video. Do you have a video for a scoop back? I like when the front neckline is closer to the neck and the back open. I searched for a vid but didn't find one. Thanks Again!

Does the shirt get ruined after you wash it? Or will it stay the same. I’m curious

I've tried two different shirts and they didn't cut evenly for me. I did my best to keep it laying flat while I cut ... even pinned the collars together the second time ... but the fabric must shift a bit while cutting because one side of the front scoop ends up cut differently than the other (and not just a smidge, but a noticeable amount). Darn!
