I couldn't even imagine what it must have been like to be a teenager back in October 1970 playing this album for the first time, volume 10, this song

I had to meet my granddaughter's girl scout troop at a ski resort to plant trees in the spring. I was late getting there as it was a saturday and I worked till noon. When I arrived I preceded to climb the slopes looking for our troop. As I climbed the steep slope what do I hear blasted over the resort's intercom, but this song. Needless to say, I never found our troop on the slopes, but I did find them in the lodge eating lunch and happy. It was worth it to hear this song broadcast up a mountain side. Killer song.

The thing about Iommi that blows me away is that, well, we all know that he is the riff GOD, but as each album progressed he was able to get a different guitar tone. Not that one was better than the other just that he never stuck with one tone. What an absolute guitar genius.

This song will always remind me of getting home from high school, having the house to myself for a few hours, getting high, and thinking about how much high school sucked. It got better--kinda wish I could go back to one of those lonely afternoons nowadays...

Know what?
I never knew this band could fit my mood this perfectly.
I never knew these were that good.
Fuck.

Inarrivabili: Il suono, la voce acida di Qzzy, la sezione ritmica, il modo di declamare, i fraseggi di Iommi, è tutto perfetto, epico, fluido. I Black Sabbath sono dei giganti...

"War Pigs" was a frequently used and wonderfully-ironic cadence song in my 1980s U.S Army unit. I always enjoyed the power of the classic Sabbath lyrics.
