This brings a tear to my eyes. I was never on a CVN but was attached to an LHD - the USS Wasp Amphib Assault Ship. I was a Marine Harrier Maintenance Sqdn Electrician/Technician. When I had Flight Deck Duty as a Green Shirt those were some of the most hectic and stressful duties of my tour during Desert Storm - the bombs and missiles were real, the planes and helicopters were going on real missions, and the speed and pace was unlike training. It was the real-deal and turned up to 11 - and the pucker factor was turned up to 11 too. From 4 Harriers taking off back to back, to Harriers taking off from the Fore and CH-46's and CH-53's landing Aft deck at the same time. The heat from jet engines, the rotor-wash from the helicopters, the pitching and swaying from the ship, to the bomb-loaders, tugs, generators, and other support gear I was responsible for all moving too, the wind from the the ship moving at several knots all combined with the ocean's cross-winds, and the noise from everything - all going on at the same time. Sh*t was real dangerous and I still have a full appreciation of what Navy Personnel do day in and day out. That was truly a miraculous thing that a Marine like me, was able to operate at that level, and at that time, while doing that job. I can't even imagine what it's like on a full-sized CVN. Go Navy. Semper Fi....

I can’t get enough of watching these guys and gals. I love our Navy, especially. The men and women who serve these planes and pilots are super heroes. Without them…I don’t even want to think about it Love me so US NAVY ❣️🇺🇸❣️

Things sure have changed since I was a plane captain on a A4 Skyhawk. Was on the Forrestal when we had the fire and the Intrepid both WestPac cruises. Bigger carriers and bigger planes now and more safety. Go Navy

Not going to lie, I miss the rush on deck. Served 03-07 on board the USS Nimitz (CVN-68) as an ABH3, finished my service time as a Yellow Shirt Flight Deck Director in Fly 2 & 3.

I like how at 1:51 the left blue shirt goes in for a team huddle and the right blue shirt goes for the headbutt lol. Always wanted to work on carriers but joined the USAF instead and was a fighters/tankers electrician. Its crazy seeing how similar yet different these worlds are.

Super team workers. You're all gorgeous and amazing. This clip made me understand more about their responsibility divided by their shirt's colors.

Man. So you have to be a pilot first before you can qualify for Shooter? No wonder those guys seem so on top of things. They know their stuff!

Another amazing video from the navy. Now for a whole diferent kind of experience try this: Play the video again but this time without sound and open a new tab playing Berlin - "Take my breath away". Feel the cinematic moment.

We used to have third-class petty officers and higher as shooters during the Vietnam War. I, as an Airman Apprentice, E2, frequently guided all kinds of aircraft up to the forward catapults using hand signals. It wasn't that big of a deal.

Well, actually this navy video montage is so well done that almost every music fits perfectly with this beautiful deck, aircraft and crew ballet. Try with the song "Higher" from Taio Cruz ft. kylie Minogue this time.
