Not gonna lie, I actually enjoyed this movie. It knew exactly what it was, and ran with it (the fact that it lampooned some of Lifetime's standard movie tropes helped). Yeah, it was dumb and silly, but I thought it was fun.

Don't judge this movie so quickly. That cat has pulled in over $100 MILLION in revenue without singing, dancing, acting, ANYTHING. The people managing the Grumpy Cat brand obviously know what they're doing. This movie will be so terrible, on purpose, it'll be addictingly awesome.

I actually loved it... they did a great job of knocking the 4th wall completely out and not taking it seriously. It was perfect and Aubrey Plaza did amazing.

Unfortunately we ran of money buying the Nokia 3310 we used to record the vocals, meaning that we had no money left to animate the cat's mouth - which looking back was a really stupid error. We also had no money left to hire a professional actor type person to do the voice of the animal cat thing, so we put an advert out on gumtree for a grumpy sounding teenage girl and chose the least talented individual we could find to avoid intimidating the audience. All these decisions turned out to be wrong, but at the end of the day, it's about the journey, and it was a journey we thoroughly enjoyed messing up.
