preview_player
Показать описание
The making of a Damascus steel Nakiri chef knife from start to finish. A nakiri is primarly used to process vegtables. The steel used was 1095/15n20 of approximately 83 layers. The steel was fully DET annealed in the kiln before heat treating and tempered after quenching. Thanks for watching!

I'm mostly impressed with those freehand skills with that angle grinder. Those pyramids are spot on like it was made with a robot.

There is true artistry, and then there is whatever this is. It transcends my ability to define it with words.

One day I will be able to afford such a masterpiece into my kitchen, but until then, I will settle for watching their creation.

Many YouTube smiths I watch I am left with the feeling of "If I had that equipment and a hundred hours, I could make something similar."

After watching this video, I don't care what equipment I have or how long to practice, I could not begin to achieve this.

Thank you for sharing.

Absolutely the best sixteen minutes and fifty-three seconds I've spent all week. What a beautiful video. Going to shop the store in a bit due to my being hypnotized. And thank you for using the correct soundtrack: no music.

The tinge on the blade just tied it all together. The handle, the Damascus, the work of art. What a knife!!!

That pattern is gorgeous. I'd never heard of pyramid Damascus before, but now I'm glad I have.

Really cool! I've tried it the other way around. Forging the pyramids and grinding flat. Cool to see it done this way. The pattern would have carried through if you forged the bevels even a little bit, but it looks great breaking up the pattern toward the edge.

Beautiful blade. Personally I was not a fan of the handle shape but it was still beautifully done. It was a pleasure to be taken along on the journey to make this. Thanks!

Did anyone else get a chuckle out of the absolutely flawless forge welds being produced on a press with bubble-gum stick welds?
Absolutely beautiful work.

I for one am grateful you didn't have the thumbnail as the knife itself because I love watching the videos to see how it turns out. This was an astounding pattern. An absolutely beautiful blade.

Gorgeous!, I have been into knives for at least 40 years, but I have been in love with damascus in particular for the last decade.
