Description:
A tall, spindly creature, on average measuring at about 8 feet tall, this being because of it's planet's low gravity. Due to their planet's low vegetation, it has evolved the trait to photosynthesize by attaching a seed on a hole behind it's ear, which eventually fuses its DNA with the Octo. It reproduces at the ripe age of ~92 years of age. This may seem like an old age to repopulate, though the species of Octo lives forever, and to understand how we need to look into another organism, called the Teranti. The Teranti is a large, 12 foot tall tube-like creature which dwells in the ashy plains that cover Octopolis. Their tube-like structure is useful to the Octo and other alien life on Octopolis as when entered the Teranti provides as many nutrients and preservatives necessary to set the alien back to when it was a newborn, though still having all of the knowledge it had before entering. The Teranti is so effective that the second Octo to be birthed it still alive today. Although the Octo look somewhat primitive, their technology far surpasses us in so many ways. They have achieved FTL speed (faster than light), poverty is essentially a thing of the past, and everyone lives in harmony. Although the Octo are this intelligent, they do not believe that there is any sapient life beyond it's planet. Our information on the Octo is only available due to small microscopic drones with cameras attached that basically spy on them. Although they do not believe that there is no intelligence out there, they have discovered a few species of non-sentient life themselves! Its reproduction system in very peregrine, though we have a general idea of how it happens. You see, when the Octo fuses with it's plant, it starts to produce seeds. When it is awake, these seeds are not fertile, though when they are going through cryptobiosis in a Teranti, these seeds can slowly grow another Octo, identical to the host. These seeds are released through small, tumor-like sacs/flaps hidden on the waist of the creature. We have no idea how the process takes place on a microscopic level, though we have a timelapse of a seed growing into a newborn Octo over just one week.
