I spent almost all of my holidays camping in North Wales when I was growing up in the 60s. I remember with great fondness Farmer Jones's wife teaching me to ask for milk every morning in Welsh. I think it was the beginning of my love of languages. I currently live in Portugal, but if I return to the UK it will be to North Wales and I will make a point of learning more than "Dau beint o laeth, os gwelwch yn dda."

This video inspired me to start learning Welsh. I had never heard the language before and I became immediately fascinated by it. I already have bought two books, Teach Yourself and also Essential Grammar. I am also using the "say it in welsh" app and am trying to find as many resources as possible. Are you going to offer transcripts and exercises like the other channels do? And, do any of you give private on-line lessons? Please put out more videos. This is a fascinating language and I can't wait to learn it! Thank you---Sean

Thank you so much! I first started learning Welsh many years ago and then stopped. Recently I got inspired again, and I'm happy that I found Easy Welsh <3

She is such a natural teacher, thank you so much, I enjoy your videos. I am studying scots Gaelic and Irish and I have not even a slightest problem with their sounds and very little problems with spelling, but Welsh really throws me off. Despite her being so good I cannot get even remotely closer to a correct pronunciation. What a contrast! Both being celtic languages, but so different. I am very happy though that Welsh is doing pretty good, is taught in schools, especially medium schools and is used widely. Tapadh leibh!

Very nicely paced, and well done. Your patience and your affection for your language are both apparent. I appreciate the clarity untangling the sounds that are relatively hard for and are surprising to those of us that didn't know a word of Welsh before viewing your video. For example: Ll- sound. Wicked:)

Very good, I like these videos for combining pronunciation with both Cymraeg and English subtitles. And I agree with @nushious, LOVELY smile.

A great video. 🤩
For me the most complicated sounds have been:
'll'
and
'rh'
Maybe later you can make a video of just these sounds.
Keep it up! 💪

Just to let everyone know, the Welsh they speak in the North of Wales and the Welsh spoken in the South of Wales are quite different. When she said blodyn (flower), I can tell she's from the North because it sounds like she's got a blocked nose 😂😂

❤ I'm of Welsh descent ( as well as Scots and Irish ) and have a lifelong fascination with the orthographic composition of the language ( especially in spoken form ) .
At 55 I'm doubtful that I'll ever grasp Cymræg, but I do enjoy attempting to speak it.

Welsh is not the only language with th Ll sound, it is in Navajo and Zulu. Welsh grammar is Afro-Asiatic.
