What is a Moment? [Vector Statics #31]

preview_player
Показать описание
A moment is essentially a torque (or a rotational force) that is applied at some point caused by an external force in a system. The moment itself is a mathematical vector quantity that has both a magnitude and a direction. We'll discuss the formal definition of a moment as well as the mathematical equation for what a moment is using what we know about cross-products.
