I kind of miss the heavy, mechanical movements of the older armors. And I loved how there were a lot of moving parts.

Still probably some of the best CGI in any film, still looks incredibly real 14 years later

3:07 That laugh is liberating. It's like finding out as a kid that you nailed a math test you thought you failed, or finding out as an adult that your insurance is actually going to fully cover the cost of something.

This suit-up scene can still give goosebumps to any real Iron Man fan. Plus the rock music doubled the enjoyment here.

The most unbelievable part is that his freshly-written OS loads successfully and does not have bugs on the very first run.

Between 1:19 and 1:20 if you slow down the video, you can actually see that UI marks the wall of tunnel with red warning sign as collision point, and Tony indeed scratches that wall on his way out of the building. It's so fast that it's hardly even noticeable, but it's still there. Amazing attention to details.

The expressions of Tony in the helmet while experiencing flying for the first time here, is probably the most child-like, happiest, geek-out in his entire time in the MCU.

1:18 and 3:06 makes you feel happy that it was a success. it's like he's a kid on those scenes and i am glad he is happy genuinely and not worrying too much about aliens or his ptsd or the consequences of the avengers and the latter's collateral damage on the world.

I remember watching this on DVD back in like 2009 and when he fell through the floor me and my mom died laughing, such a cool scene too.

Tony and J.A.R.V.I.S relationship is underrated. Friday is decent but no one replaces J.A.R.V.I.S

1:52 That kid was the first person to ever see Iron-Man, grew up hearing about his acts of heroism, probably got snapped away by Thanos by the time he was 18 just graduating high school, then came back only for Iron Man to have died an hour later. What a story.

In a few years time we'll all know just how important this film was for our generations.
Not kidding, my 1st year of Btech and I talked to a lot of freshers about why they chose engineering. All answered they wanted to build something like the Iron Man suit a reality. This movie single-handedly created an entire generation of engineers.
That aside, its still one of the best superhero movies for me.

I kind of wish they'd had Vision interact with Tony more. Yes, he was only part Jarvis, but his personality was most informed by the part that was Jarvis, and his memories were likely of Jarvis to some extent. It would've been nice to see the two interact with the dynamic they had here shifted a bit and seeing them adjust to that.

Imagine a scene where Tony is warning Vision against something, in a friendly but concerned way, and Vision just looks at him and says "Sometimes you have to run before you can walk".

The ice building up before he got to space was the universe saying "you aren't ready for what's out there."

Man I still get major goosebumps during this scene. Builds up when you see the armor breathing of life. Intensifies when the HUD activates. Excitement drives home the serious precautions of flight travel and air weather estimates. And when Tony launches he's voicing the audience were we're in his... armor. What time to be seated in a theater. Thanks Favreau.

14 years later. That walk-around reveal still gives me goosebumps.

So it's 2009.
Showing my mum this movie for the first time.
"I am Iron Man"

My mum smiles, looks at me and asks: "Know why he said that?"
"No?"
"It's so they can make a sequel"

She had no idea, just how right she was.
