Charleston school board votes to require masks for students, staff until October

The board passed a motion that will require students and staff to wear masks indoors, in all schools, through mid October. The motion passed 8 to 1. Charleston County's school board was set to receive legal advice from the school district's attorneys Monday regarding CCSD's existing face covering requirement, which currently appears to defy a state budget proviso banning "mask mandates" in South Carolina public schools.
