Finally got around to trying this. It's pretty disappointing. There is no presence whatsoever. Instead of feeling like you're there watching the sport live. It feels more like you there watching sports on a giant screen that wraps around. Too bad Apple bought Nextvr. They had phenomenal sports in Vr. It felt like you were actually there. The 3d depth was perfect.

First, I'm a big fan of the idea of putting 3D 180 cameras in a static spots among the audience so we can enjoy the experience as if we're there. Normally I say this for events like large parades (camera at the main viewing stand), theatrical plays, performances/recitals, and of course concerts. For these type of experiences, I notice that some companies are afraid of leaving the camera view alone and want to move it around including areas/angles not meant or designed for viewing (the Lion King musical play is a good example of what not to do) as being on stage up close ruins a lot of the theatrical immersion. Of course the problem being in the audience is sense of scale ESPECIALLY if there's not a blocked off view for when your avatar friends are present. For this app, have you considered virtual seats/rooms for the audience POV shots to block out people too close and adjust friend avatar sizes to seem proportional to the viewable audience members? Maybe even adding additional virtual audience members close to you as the blocking view or add motion to a static background for 180 videos.

Sport games are different naturally as their best view might be on the sideline center, skybox, end field, or from an angle. Also, sports benefit from having augmented data to help the viewer identify location of the ball, player names, score/time, targets/goals, etc. Obviously you have accounted for angles, but what about the augmented visuals? From what I see, it's having a Big Screen to simulate what we get in the stadium but since it's VR more can be done.

Watching videos on quest is like watching 720p vids in Vaseline with a screen door. Give me a higher res headset, and not for an obscene price either. You want people to get excited for vr, invest in high quality content and hardware for the stuff people actually want, not the mEtAvErsE.

On that note.. how is wrestling still a thing, when UFC exists... "Oh, let me watch this fake & weak "actors" act out a pretend and horrible "fight" and take way too long to do anything at all"... I mean, yikes. Oh well.
