ARCY2006 The Archaeology of Death - Video Welcome

his is a Broadening Unit as well as an option in the Archaeology Major. It is intended as an interesting Unit dealing with one of the big issues in human life - death and how people have dealt with it over time. Archaeology is in a unique position to investigate death across cultures, time and space and ask BIG questions like:

"What are the origins of beliefs about death?";
"What, exactly do we mean by 'death'"?
"What are the ethical and legal implications of death and dealing with the dead?"
How can our archaeological work be used in the modern world?"
"How will we view death and dispose of the dead in the future?"
