We caught up with the Chief Engineer and a couple of designers of the new Ford Expedition who shared some of the changes and highlights on the newest version of the large SUV.

I would say the 03 Expedition compared to the 02 was the biggest ever change. Completely new body, chassis, and interior. This is just another major refresh of the previous gen.

Nice improvements reminds my of my EU car, kudos to Ford for using proving designs, hope to see one day the idrive implementation as well. But please update the annoying outdated sound chimes.

Hey how about a redesign of manufacturing, supply chains to eliminate the quality and recall problems that have caused loss of market share? How about a redesign of future competitive strategy to reenter global markets? How about a redesign of financial incentives to elininate stock buyback manipulation and undeserved executive compensation? How about just building safe clean reliable affordable cars that people want, like Henry Ford did?

No decent diesel option is a bummer. Electronic rear limited slip differential suggests fake LSD that uses brake to slow/stop the spinning wheel.

A big, resource gobbling, brick. Most people do not need a vehicle this large. Ford, how about bringing back small cars like Focus and Fiesta!

That interior looks awful. Where's the clean and beauty lines of having screen integrated into the dashboard. Now we don't only have one big blob of TV screen in the middle. We have another one more behind unconnected completely breaking the lines of what otherwise still would be a ugly dashboard. 😊

Ford's over dependence on trucks has hampered its portfolio, profits, stock price, spotty quality, and customer base. Honestly, the only product Ford has that was a game changer, but got high was the Maverick when hybridization was standard.

18:00 if that's an ipad mount, why doesn't it just have an iPad doc to charge without a cable or at least have a USB-C in the headrest?
there's simply no such thing in 2022 or 2025 as a 2nd row passenger who doesn't want their device at eye level and charging
how can this still be a generic 3D printed gadget instead of a built-in feature?

p.s. one of the cool features in the F-150 is the headrest speaker for the front row … listening to drive-time radio, news … much better than cranking up the amp to fill the cabin from the door speakers

The exterior looks very nice but I don't like that dash board. Dump those screens and give me real knobs and buttons. Also what's wrong with a round steering wheel?
