It's a new year and that means a new set of comic book movies. This year we get the start of phase 5 of the MCU, a new spider-verse movie, new ninja turtles, 4 DC movies, and James Gunn's final MCU film before heading to the competition. Here's my ranking of all 10 2023 comic book movies!

Kraven is definitely an A-tier Spider-Man villain, but he cannot really have a meaningful role without the presence of Spider-Man. Kraven’s last hunt is easily one of the best Spider-Man storylines and I would love to see it adapted to live action, but not like this. Luckily Kraven will be in the next Spider-Man game, so we will at least get one good adaptation of the character this year.

I feel like Across The Spiderverse will have the same heart that made the first one so special. If it wasn’t going to have that heart then the second trailer wouldn’t have been focused on the emotional speech about growing up that Miles’ mother made.

Ant-Man 3 is actually the film I'm most excited for right now, kicking off phase 5 but also hopefully bringing some focus back after phase 4's unfocused nature. Then Guardians vol 3 would be next and Across the Spiderverse.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 would be the one I’m most looking forward to. Even though I didn’t like Guardians Vol. 2 all that much, that didn’t hurt my excitement for Guardians Vol. 3. I still think James Gunn is an incredibly talented writer and director who has made multiple great movies and a great TV show. Hopefully Guardians Vol. 3 has all of the humor and emotion of the first Guardians, which based on the trailer, I’m very confident that Guardians Vol. 3 will be that.

GotG vol. 3 is pretty easily my most anticipated CBM of 2023. I absolutely love the first 2 and the Holiday Special, and all of their scenes in IW/Endgame and even L&T (as short as that was) were great too. James has yet to let me down with a comic book property, so I’m pretty hyped!

Ant-Man and the Wasp is by far my most anticipated, it is going above and beyond what anyone could’ve imagined an Ant-Man movie to go.

1. Spider-Verse, I really hope it's just as good if not better than the first one
2. Quantumania, very excited to see Kang
3. Guardians, its the last Marvel movie directed by James Gunn, really hoping its good
4. Blue Beetle, I really like the character in the comics, hope they adapt it well
5. Flash, very curious to see why they're still releasing it after everything with Ezra
6. Shazam, sad this won't be in the main DCU
7. Aquaman, again, it kinda bums me out that this isn't gonna be in the main DCU
8. The Marvels, I liked Ms. Marvel and I wanna see Kamala again
9. Kraven, I expect it to be the Morbius of 2023, hope I'm wrong though
10. TMNT, this version just doesn't interest me

Honestly I'm way more excited for Ant-Man 3, Flash, Shazam & Aquaman way more than Spider-Verse 2. But Ant-Man 3 is my most anticipated film of 2022 with The Flash a close 2nd(It would be my most anticipated, but with all the new things being revealed and other things, it isn't, but a very close second)

J.C Chandor is directing kraken. His filmography ( a most violent year, triple frontier, all is lost) has been pretty well received. So there some hope for this movie.
