Out developing my serve today, I have a new habit of pulling my racket like a double edged sword out of a scabbard and cutting the Birthday hat off. I am trying to execute at least one shadow swing before hitting a ball. Having just read Inner Game of Tennis, sometimes I let my serve happen vs. making it happen. Someday I’ll get this. Thanks, Ryan.

You explain concepts so well, love watching your videos when I get home frustrated after a below par hit!

Hey, I just wanted to say from watching your videos over the last year and a half or so, at first I was trying to find other ways to learn from other coaches or teachers and I eventually came back to your videos again when I started to realize you were right about a lot of things. ...and it's not that I thought what you were saying was wrong, it just wasn't clicking at first and I was trying to find another way yo improve. Then when I pieced everything together especially this year... and of course I'm still learning after 2 years as an advanced beginner 3.0/3.5 player....and trying to perfect my serve or volleys or whatever, but you keep things simple, in perspective and it all makes sense in the end is what I'm saying...lol So thank you, keep doing what you're doing and appreciate everything you do!!

Thanks Ryan, love the video and completely changed my motion (again) after your JJ Wolf video. 1st serves improved crazy💪 I can't hit my half slice kick leftie 2nd serve yet. Any tips for 2nd serve with that motion?

Nice motion but more deep knee leg drive. Raise toss a hair more so you can go into a deeper push phase and more of a trophy position. Really like your videos.

In general you have a very solid mechanics but there is one but... at least one... (there is a low toss discussion as well... low toss doesn't work for most of the players... but it's up for a debute and at the end it what works for you) Look at your knees (0:2 sec) they come close to each other and you have like a triangle shape between your legs. That's actually a mistake preventing you from good loading and good leg drive. Nic Arachic has a video about that particular problem. Search it up!

When i watched this video again i realised its 2 totally different serves standing on different sides of the court. (Opposite ends too judging from shadows)

Hard for an elite player even to stand in 2 different places at once I'd suggest and misleading beginners with obvious tricks like this says a lot i think

You left out the idea of leading with your elbow and thrusting it forward and up - for those of us who don’t do that naturally ;)

Please don't do the hit the bday hat off, just let your racquet drop like Roger

The idea that a short/ low toss is desirable is contrary to basic laws of physics. Happy to explain why but there is a reason why successful women players typically toss the ball higher than many men and its got nothing to do with a players height.

Regardless, if a shorter player deliberately tosses the ball lower on their serve they are making a difficult task much harder 😂
