My mum is 7 years older than my dad. There were criticism and jokes targeted towards them. But they've been together for 22 years now. So yeah, age isn't really a problem.

Purely in my opinion...even more important than any sort of age gap is the maturity level of each person in the relationship. If both individuals are of similar or complementary maturity then it will work regardless of age gap. If the maturity difference is too great the relationship will not last....no matter the age....

25 year gap here, together for 8 years, planning our wedding next year. He was 24 when we met, I was 49. I tried to push him away several times because I wanted him to have a "normal" life, but he refused to go. It wasn't until he turned 30 (old enough to make life decisions) and I really believed that he never intended to have children whether we stayed together or not, that I gave in and we settled down to being happy. And we are so very happy. Even after 8 years, he is my best friend, we laugh every day, and we love just hanging out together. I adore him and I know he adores me.

My wife and I have a 10 year gap too, she's the best that has happened to me. I tried to not fall for her and actually tried to "kill" my feelings. The burden got too heavy, so I decided that if we would have 1 date I would see that we dont match and the feelings would go.
