Subhas Chandra Bose offered to send 100, 000 tons of rice from Burma in 1943 but Churchill rejected that.

The panel was lopsided britishers seemed to know more about the topic than the indians did. The british points weren't countered well.

British have no idea about the history of India, Bengal famine, Gas attack on the Iraqis, Gas attack on Russians, the creation of Israel, and they do not accept the true history.

One can tell already the indian speakers where selected to be there. If they invited somebody like Shashi Tharoor it would be vastly different

The most interesting members in panel are perhaps the Indians. Also the absence of a discussion of Churchill as a war leader is intriguing. One prominent British historian described the consequence of the Battle of Normandy as "the apples of Sodom which turned into dust as soon as they were touched". A telling comment of Churchills claim as a war hero.

Indpite of all the atrocities churchil was responsible to have done British still believe that he wa s a great statesman. This is True nature of THe British intellectuals.Churchill sacked Dayer But conveniently ignored the fact that Millions of ppounds were raised to take Dayer Home together with the Felicitation of THe Person who was responsible for mass murder. The dead soul of Millions of Bengal farmer shall never forgive him.

Churchill was part of British imperialism. Enough said. A hero for whom?

As for Winston Churchill, he, Churchill recruited and sent into Ireland the Black and Tans and worse the infamous Auxiliary cadets who tortured and murdered innocent unarmed civilians. It backfired on Churchill not least because of the uproar it caused among the British public.

Curchill was for 1000 years of british empire. SECOND WORLD WAR LIBERATED INDIA AND INDIA WAS LUCKY IN THAT RESPECT. British empire crumbled after the
War. Otherwise Indian would be under British now.

This conversation is more or less a Patronizing attitude of the British again.

A very good Swapan - ostensibly a nationalist, but keeps on struggling to imitate the Englishmen's English - style, tone, tenor and texture (in an exclusive package) was surprisngly toned down. It seems he is now well settled as a parliamentarian!! Good for him. Was it not his goal? Bet, it was!!

Here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, our main city square is called Churchill Square, the train station, Churhill LRT Station, and there's a big Churchill statue in the LRT station. The Bengal Famine of 1943 was a big mistake because otherwise, the last great Indian famine would have been the 1898-1901 famine. The British instead of modern India could have claimed they ended the famines. Now they have to explain famines starting with the Great Bengal Famine of 1770 and ending with the Bengal Famine of 1943, followed by partition violence.
