We need to create an app like unemployment but from donations on the ground.. In my city of Tampa Florida the homelessness rate is 57 per 10, 000 residents I figure each household is around four people so that's 57 per 2, 500 workers.. If each worker donates 25 dollars per month is 62, 500 dollars per month per 57 people 0r 1, 096 dollars per month each.. let's work hard, automate, be adults, and have funds!!

I'm just here because of a C-Span clip about Acting Labor Secretary not being able to like an idiot. How TF does a pro get to talk like that? How do I get a job like that? Actually don't tell me. If I was that useless I would feel so horrible I would want to pepsi hamburger time.

The true reason one side would go after independent contractors (while claiming to go to bat for independent contractors rights) is because independent contractors make way too much money and some of that money comes in the form of cash payments. In this very hearing, they've admitted that their new policies actually make it harder for business owners to survive. So instead of helping the small business owners like they claim to be doing, they tell us to hold on while they chase down a phantom "underground entity" to make things right.

After seeing the snippet from TT that makes the secretary look incompetent, now coming here to see the full line of questioning I realize its the congresswoman that is incompetent. She doesn’t allow her to answer a single question, cuts her off, and is disrespectful. 1099 misclassification is an issue and the new rules are necessary. The salon industry is one example of where misclassification and double dipping is normalized and unethical. That’s been solved in California salons.

I agree with Julie on the 1099 contractor employee situation I know its often its a scam to pay people less than the employee/contractor is worth paying less than they pay their employee's doing the exact same job.

Yeah workforce programs need money but also better associated orgs so Americans arent left behind.. For example companies like Eckerd Connects seemed more like a scam to fill their pockets instead of Americans with jobs. Even their reviews say the same so better choices of contractors orgs seem essential.
