There's really no reason I made this, there's no deep message or anything, I just absolutely love Moomins and I absolutely love @cavetown so i felt like it had to be done :)
This is not perfect, FAR from it, and there's still some glitches from my editing software that I can't fix, but I hope yall still enjoy it!

life-longg moomin fan here, talking since i was a baby, aahhh i loved this, this was so sweet, the way you animted snufkin playing the harmonica melody at the start was so aedfgsfh it made me squeal! and all the characters looked so nice and good.
i wanna write a whole thesis on why i enjoyed this, but i simply cannot find the words to articulate myself, this was so sweet. and also, thanks for showing me this cavetown song i missed :)

XD It's so lovely, the motion is great, the shots are dynamic with varied lighting and different moods, and you encapsulate the many sides of Moominvalley and its residents so well! AND THEN HE GETS TACKLED BY MOOMIN IM 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶 i might have put my hand over my mouth and shed some tears that was so cutie patootie of them 🥺 literally get you on mv19's animation staff right now because i'll never understand why never they got to have a tackle hug </33

i love how we see the first part of the song as snufkin's winter travels! they're rarely seen in any moomin show, and i think here it's a cool way to showcase snufkin's life outside of moominvalley! it really makes it seem like both his travels and time in the valley are equally special to him, and with the backgrounds you did not disappoint!!! i'm loving the slightly lonely stills with minimal movement (WITH GORGEOUSLY PAINTED SKIES AND TREES AND GRASS AND COLOR PALETTES), versus in moominvalley where movement is very much prioritized! there's so much life everywhere and i think that's beautiful.

also literally just the song choice has me in tears 😭😭 cavetown is now forever associated with moomin to me esp after lemon boy and homesick, and it's not hard to see why! his songs are always full of such acoustic coziness and storytelling with a slight melancholic tone that makes it perfect for modern day moomin. and this one in particular is so snufkin coded hello??? this is my first time hearing this song and it's such a perfect accompaniment to this animation!!!
