I just made a sketch following yours and it's the best portrait drawing I ever made. Thank you! You're an excellent instructer.

It was quite amazing to watch this sketch unfold. Looking at the photo, I would have been completely intimidated, wondering where in the world to begin. Thank you for your step by step breakdown. Much appreciated.

The eyes came Outta nowhere with a few simple moves. It came alive after that wowa. And dried water colour has this special life to it. It's such a simple thing, take colour add water but the way you use it is brilliant and needs to be respected. Seems easy but that's because of your talent and practice :)

This and the portrait prior to it have been so so helpful. I really want to have a go using your techniques.
Thank you so much for two really interesting presentations.

This is brilliant, thank you. Love the simple idea of using dots for scale. I tried to draw a teapot recently but the proportions were terrible, would’ve been much easier if I’d marked it out with dots first.

You're my ultimate favorite sketch artist. Watching you makes drawing feel less intimidating, but still potentially impressive

The dot thing actually makes sense, I will definitely incorporate it in my future sketches. Thanks!

I really love this style of loose lines combined with the watercolor! Been wanting to draw like this for years now, I hope this video gets me to finally give it a try. Thanks for the content!

What a nice, straightforward tutorial. Your ink and watercolor art style is beautiful (it's actually what made me click the thumbnail, on the art style alone), and I love watching the techniques behind beautiful artwork. The dots and proportion estimates are a great way to visualize without having to sketch with a pencil first, and I'll certainly be giving it a try myself! I've only used watercolors once in my life, but I've been wanting to try them again. I see you have a tutorial about watercolor washes, so I'm probably headed there next. Thanks for sharing!

I have always wanted to make this style of art work but am too art illiterate on how people do it. It’s very helpful to watch than just drawing a circle, i prefer these dots as reference points because it challenges my observation on portraits. Thank you 👍❣️

Perfect tutorial. Freehand is art.
I only draw and paint freehand. But you teach me something new. Thanks

As always Scottie, that was interesting, useful and enjoyable to watch!
I think a lot of people find portrait drawing the most intimidating - there is such a small margin for error. Everyone knows exactly how a face should look; the proportions and the relation of the features.
It was interesting to see how carefully you added each line, and with just a few key lines the face took shape.
