Isaiah 58:13 tells us that we should keep from doing as we please and from pursuing our own interests on the Sabbath, but what if you’re stuck inside and the family starts to get restless?
Here are a few other suggestions:
1. Read a Bible-based devotional.
2. Study the Sabbath School lesson.
3. Play Bible board or trivia games.
4. Watch Bible-based content on YouTube.
5. Find a Christian coloring book.
6. Paint a picture of scenes from nature.
Though the Sabbath can be seen as a sort of fast in that you are abstaining from secular, or worldly, activities, we should reframe our thoughts to think on all the things that we can do, instead of the things we shouldn’t do. Let us also remember that Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath and our attention should be fixed upon Him.
