Organizations and individuals are working to address loneliness and access to competent, affirming healthcare and assisted living communities. We shine a light on what many in the Stonewall Generation have had to endure and fight for in the hopes of effecting positive community change in the ongoing pursuit of equality. #lgbtq #lgbtqia #pride

▬▬ About Aging Matters ▬▬
Since they were born, members of the Baby Boomer generation have played a big role in shaping American culture. In 2011, the first of the boomers turned 65. As they age, the vast number of people entering their senior years will undoubtedly have an impact on how our communities understand and respond to the needs of older citizens. By the year 2020, Tennessee's population of people between the ages 65-74 is expected to grow by almost 48%.

Aging Matters is a community-based conversation about what older citizens in Middle Tennessee need to optimize their quality of life and how the community needs to prepare for our aging population. The series focuses on issues such as caregiving, finances, end-of-life, dementia and Alzheimer’s through documentaries, town halls, panel discussions, short form updates, community conversations, and screenings.

I went from Meghan Grisolano's Youtube Channel, she's a Tennessee Youtuber living in Spain for 5 years.
It's good to watch LGTBIQA+ elder people in America.
Here in Spain, much of LGTBIQA+ people are young people (Some from other countries or continents due to prison or death for being LGTBIQA+) and all that people married or will be married after the Same Sex Marriage Law was passed on Spain on 30th June 2005

Gracias Meg por contribuir a la difusión de este problema. No sé si es paralelo a lo que sucede en España u otros paises con el mismo colectivo, el grado de tolerancia según el estado en que vivas sí es diferente. Si el llegar solo y frágil a una edad en la que el envejecimiento te limita, el rechazo lo tiene que hacer insufrible. Tienen que crearse o potenciar Fundaciones que lleven la dignidad a la vida de todas las personas, si las que existen hasta ahora no lo hacen. Es triste segmentar a la población por creencias, ideas, raza, condicción sexual, etc, pero es una manera de sobrellevar una vejez tranquila. Todos mis respetos y afecto Meg Grisolano.

Como mujer soltera muchas veces me he preguntado quién cuidará de mi cuando sea mayor y nunca me había parado a pensar que las personas de la comunidad LGTBIQ+ tienen además que enfrentarse a prejuicios también en el acceso a los servicios de la tercera edad.

Great documentary. Congrats to all the crew and all my support for all the people of the documentary. I have a similar case in my house. My aunt 70yo is still struggling between her sexual preference and the old and homophobic culture standards. If they have problems, giving them visibility with something like this documentary is a great advance and really helpful. Thank you!!

Tengo ya 60 años y si ya es difícil pensar en una vejez segura, pues imagínate en estos colectivos, con lo difícil que es luchar con las familias y sus prejuicios. 😢 jamás lo pensé. Gracias por dar esa visibilidad a estos temas que siempre y no se porque, no tienen tanta Trascendencia en ningún medio.
