Therma Tru Door Tripple Latch Repair

In this video we figure out how to get the door open after the Therma Tru Tripple Point Latch mechanism fails with the door closed. There are a couple fails on the part of Therma Tru with this, but in the over all I am happy with the company and the product.

Thank you for this. I had forgotten about the secret lock release. This is the second time I have had a bum lock in 2 years. I will NEVER put in another Thermatru door. Not only are they prone to wear out quickly, but the factory runs on bankers hours. They don’t have customer service on weekends and can take forever to supply parts. Meanwhile the door remains unsecured awaiting parts. Lowes sells these things you would think that Thermatru would get their dealer to carry oft replaced parts. No chance. Thanks again.

My door is 3 years old, in those 3 yrs ive had to remove the hinge pins to open the 8’ 200lb door and take lock apart prob 10 times, shits getting old. They sent me a new lock mechagnism, still does it, If the three point lock fingers are not fully into the jam and you turn the dead bolt it jams up. Mine is jammed now and it will stay till spring.

Darren, did you call the 800 number for therma Tru for replacement parts? I have a 2014 3-point locking system with similar issues.

April of 23, we got a new dog sitter, she left and guess what I found? The damn door is locked shut again. The last three times it was my daughter in law, I told her if she touched the door I was gonna break her fingers, it does no good to replace the hardware, it’s a design flaw that happens new or old .
