This was a song from the Taming the Tiger album. I thought at the time this would be her final recording, especially given the lyrics of Taming the Tiger, and I had a good, long cry when I listened to My Best to You. Lead Balloon seemed all anger and temper and out of character, and I thought No Apologies was a better expression for the disillusionment that Dog Eat Dog (especially Ethiopia) embodied and that peaked on Shine (the asshole passing on the right and the red light runners talking on their cell phones!) . But of course, as always, she hit her mark with brutal accuracy, but having been in love with the love and romantic angst from the beginning, it was really sad for me because I hadn't gotten there yet. But I'm there now, and the words seem to have stuck. I'm 68 now and I've never owned a cell phone, nor will I ever. I guess that really makes me a free man in Paris, or wherever else I go. OK, done editing now.
