I can't say the same about mine. It lasted 3 years, the stitches started tearing, especially those on the handles, they came undone...
Okay, considering the price, I would expect if it didn't last long, but still... meanwhile I bought the Gator GB-4G bag, a bit more expensive, but with much better quality...

I have a Reunion Blues single and another double gigbag. I like them both. The guitars in the double bag face in opposite directions. ie: inside the case, the headstocks are basically face each other. I am generally careful, but the bags are very protective.

I've found their hard cases for strats to be pretty good. Cost me about £30 some 10 years ago. I dont tend to like soft bags for the reason you point out. They are what they are I suppose.
