Kate Middleton and Andy Murray surprise young tennis players in south London | Royals

The Duchess of Cambridge has become accustomed to being centre stage at any public appearance.

But tennis lover Kate had to play second string as she interrupted a virtual royal visit to a primary school to introduce young players to Sir Andy Murray.

Kate, who made a video call to pupils at Bond Primary School, quizzed them on their tennis training before revealing she had a special guest waiting on the line to chat to them.

Kate said: “I've got a very important person here that's going to come and join us, that would love to meet you guys and might be able to share some tennis tips as well with you."
