I watched Kenshin back in the day and I liked it back then as a kid. At least enough that I still remember it somewhat detailedly. I haven't watched the remake yet though.

But honestly, now I just find the whole idea kind of annoying.
In the earlier arcs, when you have nerfed hittoukiri Battousai overpowering everybody with ease, sure whatever. But once you get to the foes that ain't ragdolls, it's just lame that you have this supposedly godlike swordsman getting cut up for fun, just because he doesn't wanna use a decent sword anymore. Instead using the infamous reverse blade sword, basically trying to batter the enemy with a metal stick instead.
