A lot of Finnish folks still have a very hard time accepting our East Asian ancestry. At least a lot of Finnish nationalists claim that even though we might have Siberian ancestry, proto-uralic was spoken by a white Europoid population. Considering that BOO was basically a 50/50 Siberian-EHG mix, I do wonder if the proto-uralic arose among an mixed EHG-Siberian population (similar to PIE arising in a EHG-CHG mixed population), instead of an purely Northeast Asian one, especially since Yukaghiric appears to have a relation to Uralic languages and Krasnoyarsk sample seems autosomally close to modern yukaghiric populations. So proto-uralic language would've formed when a proto-yukaghiric people mixed with Combed Ceramic EHG population. Baseless speculation but still the concept intrigues me.

Finland is european autosomal dna, because of their maternal side. They have european mtdna haplogroups which have mixed tousands of years before with siberian N, O, P, Q, R east eurasian ydna. Even Khanti, Mansi, Komi people have partly european U and other related mtdna haplogroups.

Similar to modern turkic people, modern uralic people also have both east and west eurasian autosomal dna. West eurasian dna is not purely western, finnic, ugric, turkic are good example for this issue. All have high east eurasian N, O, P, Q, R ydna (as we can see N1a source is east eurasian) and partly european mtdna.
