Filamentous Bacteria

At first I thought these were small, thin nematodes, but based on their size and numbers I think it's more likely that these are filamentous bacteria.

If one can see hair-like objects that glisten on (healthy) soil surface under strong light, can this be bacteria? What organism size can be seen by eye (if wet & under light)?
